On the cover: Students in a Course-Based Undergraduate Research Experience (CURE) course used site-directed mutagenesis to analyze specific amino acids that they hypothesized would be critical for the NADase function of the Acinetobacter baumannii Toll/IL-1R (TIR) domain-containing protein AbTir. Results from the CURE support findings from previous structural studies that predict conformational changes in AbTir upon ligand binding. Vallejo-Schmidt, T., C. Palm, T. Obiorah, A. R. Koudjra, K. Schmidt, A. H. Scudder, E. Guzman-Cruz, L. P. Ingram, B. C. Erickson, V. Akingbehin, T. Riddick, S. Hamilton, T. Riaz, Z. Alexander, J. T. Anderson, C. Bader, P. H. Calkins, S. S. Chaudhry, H.
