Summary
Human α globulin will suppress the in vitro transformation of human lymphocytes induced by two highly purified mitogens isolated from crude phytohemagglutinin preparations. Only one of the mitogen preparations (H-PHAP), however, forms nonspecific precipitates with human serum or isolated α globulin preparations. These results suggest that α globulin does not interfere with phytohemagglutinin-induced transformation by virtue of a direct reaction with the reaction with the mitogen.
