Immunoglobulin on the Surface of Human Lymphocytes. The Detection of Kappa Chain V Region Determinants on B Cells and not on T Cells¹

Anti-V_κ region antisera and anti-C_κ,λ region antiserum were used to investigate the nature of antigen recognition units of T cells. The results did not support the hypothesis that T cells contain relatively large amounts of V regions with undetectable amounts of C regions which are buried in the membrane but indicated that with specific anti-κI and anti-κIII antisera the detectable V region determinants were confined to the B cell population.
