Abstract
Beginning January 1, 1978, the new copyright law (PL 94-553) for all written material vests the copyright with the author until the author legally transfers it. Before The Journal of Immunology can publish any material, the author must formally transfer copyright to the American Association of Immunologists and The Williams & Wilkins Co. so that they will be protected from the unauthorized use of the contents of The Journal of Immunology. When the author transfers copyright he or she relinquishes all exclusive rights of copyright ownership, including the rights of reproduction, derivations, distribution, and display unless permission from the publisher is granted for reproduction. Such permission will be granted to the author (or to others with permission of the authors) upon written request to the editor.
When a manuscript is submitted for publication in The Journal of Immunology the author will receive a copyright form that must be signed by all persons listed as authors.
