It was a great privilege to serve as President of the American Association of Immunologists from July 2021 through June 2022. This was an important time for both our society and the public. We transitioned through the worst of a historic pandemic that highlighted the importance of immunology to the world. Recognizing this, the AAI Council voted to expand our mission while continuing to provide a forum and opportunities for our members. We agreed that the AAI should also be outward facing with the goal of becoming a trusted voice for the general community around a broad range of scientific and immunologic topics.
