Summary
Four species of mosquitoes, Aedes dorsalis, Aedes varipalpus, Culex tarsalis, and Culiseta inornata, remained infected with California encephalitis virus for at least 7 to 8 days after an infective meal.
In the laboratory Aedes dorsalis transmitted this virus to a rabbit on one occasion.
