Both a primary and secondary antibody response to BGG can be initiated by lymph node cells transferred to tolerant rabbits; whereas, only the secondary response to BGG can be initiated by similar cells transferred to x-radiated recipients. The relationship of these findings to the effect of x-radiation on antibody production was discussed.

It was postulated that the cells associated with recognition of antigens and/or production of antibody were the sites of unresponsiveness in rabbits tolerant to soluble protein antigens.
