Summary
The following changes occur in the plasma lipids of dogs with thrombopenic purpura produced experimentally by the injection of a moderate dose of antiplatelet serum: the fatty acids show an immediate slight decrease followed by a marked increase, one to two days later, with a subsequent return to normal; there is an immediate increase in lipid phosphorus that persists for 3 to 8 days; the cholesterol shows no significant changes.
