Summary
A method for the purification of C′2 of human complement is briefly reported.
Purified preparations of C′1 and C′2 are not bactericidal per se; however, when they are combined respectively with the other components of the complement system they are bactericidal against sensitized V. comma.
Since these same purified components operated similarly in a hemolytic system, this is additional proof of the identity of the hemolytic and bactericidal complementary components.
