Summary
Suppression can be induced in animals which are deficient in the complete hemolytic complement system as well as in animals which have a complete complement system. We can, therefore, exclude the possibility that suppression is due to complement-mediated cell lysis. Suppression could not be induced in a circulating antigen which was not an immunoglobulin.
