Abstract
Hamster γ1, γ2, γA and γM globulins have been identified by immunoelectrophoresis developed with antisera from rabbits injected with antigen-hamster antibody complexes. Binding of labeled antigen to hamster γ1 and γ2 antibodies was observed in sera obtained 1 to 8 weeks following injection of hapten-protein conjugates emulsified in complete Freund's adjuvant. Binding to γM antibodies was limited to weeks 1 and 2 and binding to γA antibodies was demonstrable only at week 3. Indirect evidence for the existence of a reagin-like homocytotropic antibody was presented.
