Why has AAI moved to a new platform?
After careful consideration and review of many options, the decision was made to move the hosting of our journals to the Silverchair platform to improve discoverability of our content. We hope to bring our users an improved user experience— including, for example, a split-screen functionality for readers, and robust search tools for researchers.
As part of the platform migration, we have assigned Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) to articles in our 100-year-old historical archive that did not previously have DOIs. This addition will make our older articles searchable. These are gradually being deposited to Crossref, so for a short period of time you might see a DOI on an older article that is not yet linked to Crossref. In the meantime, these articles can be cited through the volume, issue, and page number.
Have the journal URLs changed?
Existing URLs will be permanently redirected to the new site. The new journal URLs are:
https://journals.aai.org
https://journals.aai.org/jimmunol for The Journal of Immunology
https://journals.aai.org/immunohorizons for ImmunoHorizons
Are there any changes to browser support, accessibility, or mobile access?
The new platform is optimized for modern browsers, such as Microsoft Edge, Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari (for Mac users). If you are currently using Internet Explorer, we encourage you to upgrade to one of the browsers listed above.
Will my old bookmarked links still work?
Yes. You will be redirected to the new site, but we recommend that you update links to the new sites as soon as possible.
Have there been any changes to DOIs? Has the DOI registry been updated to reflect new URLs?
Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) have been updated in the DOI registry to reflect the new URLs.
Will the RSS feeds I was using previously continue to feed to my RSS reader?
As our URLs have changed, the original RSS feeds will no longer feed to your RSS reader. You can set up new RSS feeds for the current issue using these links:
https://journals.aai.org/rss/site_1000001/1000003.xml
https://journals.aai.org/rss/site_1000003/1000004.xml
Can I search for content across all journals on the new website?
Yes, content is easily searchable across our portfolio of journals on our new journal sites. Visit https://journals.aai.org/advanced-search to use this powerful tool to search using anything from keywords to authors, article type, availability, and choose your search parameters.
Who do I contact if I have any further questions?
Please email [email protected] or [email protected] if you need additional assistance, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
